The prototype is currently tested at the laboratory of Hydraulics "Giorgio Bidone", within a hydraulic tank 55 m long, 0.6 m wide and about 1 m deep. A piston beater (wave generator) allows the waves realization (regular and irregular) over a wide range of widths (from a few millimeters up to 15 cm) and periods (0.2-6 s).

The tank also allows the study of waves superimposed on currents, with these latter generated by a recirculation system allowed by an underground tank. This tank is equipped with resistive probes that allow to monitor the evolution of the waves along the channel.
